Looking for some advice from those of you in the UK...
Who do you all use for your prints?
For standard 6x4 and 7x5 prints, up to now I have used Boots, as I can't fault their quality or prices, when bought in quantities of 150+
I can't help but think that a client would not want to see "Boots" on the back of their images. Would they think "any one can take pics and get them developed at boots!"?
For larger prints, I am currently using Photobox as their speed of turnaround is excellent and prices are good too. Their larger prints do not have any company name on the back either, just a series of numeric strings that don't seem to mean anything obvious.
I had some 12"x8" from here a while back.
Came out very well for only 35p each. They print the file name and //www.foto on the back. Not tried anyone else at this size to compare with.
A mate had done at 30"20" and it looked terrific.
I use pixmania, the print haven't the logo on the backside and the quality/price is good. for better quality, but with most high price, photocity but I don't know is they work even with foreign country(I think yes, but I don't know)
Boots provide low quality, flimsy prints. Ideally, find a local print shop run by people who will work with you. I was on good terms with a couple of print shops but the problem at the moment is that they keep on closing down... not so much money in prints nowadays.
I don't agree with that. Of the high street type photo developers, I think Boots is one of the best?!?
Maybe just my local Boots then - but the paper they used would flop. They couldn't tell me what printer they used, could not take special requests, could not use anything other than standard settings, could not run anything than the most common of print sizes... etc
My local printers will do all that, and if I get serious about print making they would offer b2b services.

I wonder if the different outlets use different machines/paper?
I only use them for 6x4's and 7x5's, and yes, they only use standard settings, but I have been happy with everything I have had from my local store.
