Can I get some feedback on this image? I am playing around with DuoTone and would like to know if this is too brown, too dark, too much contrast etc.... ???? Any feedback would be helpful. I am getting ready to print out an 11 x 14 of this in a custom frame and want to know if I am the only one in the world that likes it.
On my monitor it kinda has a greenish tint. It could be my monitor but I did just calibrate it recently and I wouldn't think so. Maybe others will comment. Great shot, though!
The contrast is good but my eye can't help but focus on the top part of the picture where the tree trunk is located. The focus seems to be really sharp there.
No. She was able to stand with a little help (tree) at 14 weeks. Very tall, very light.
Saw the comment about the green. I did bump the green by about 8 in the channel mixer. I'm thinking about taking it out. Thanks. That's a lot of work though...........

It's a little dark for me, especially being a baby shot, and I'd like to see some of the top cropped out putting the focus entirely on the baby.
The 11 x 14 crops it out so the baby is in focal point. My wife and I went back and forth on this exact point. More baby less tree.
I like it much better. I'm not sure if you adjusted the green channel or not but it doesn't seem as green now. Maybe the adjustment of the brightness helped too.(?)
I found this download pretty decent for quadtones. Just add it to your duotone directory. Ken Lee Quad Action First time I ever tried the other day, pretty sweet.

Less Green and Lighter. With a crop of course. Thanks for the feedback to all. This helps. I'll sit around for another couple hours to see if there is more then PRINT.
Looks good. I like the tones. What made you want to take a picture of the baby on a tree? Please don't take this wrong but it feels all wrong for me. I don't like the tree as a background. It feels to rough and not the baby's style. I see baby shots as being soft and calming. Keep shooting!
I happen to like the baby by the tree. It is different than the usual baby picture and creative. However, in my opinion I would prefer the picture to be a little lighter. Good work though.
Are you using duo- tri- or quad-tone here? It looks like duo-... There are a couple of beautiful quad-tone recipes that came with PS6 anyways that you should try maybe!

I'm using Duo tone only. Do I have to have PS6 for the recipes. I've only got PS7, and wasn't too happy with the tones in the presets.
In general with duotones, have the second color lighter than you think you want it if you're blending with black; my favorite combo is Black + PMS 143 (an orangey-brown). Try eliminating black entirely from the highlights (start with 20 or 30=5% or so), and top out the second color at about 70% (100=70%); this usually leads to enhanced contrast and detail.
If you want to sent me a grayscale version I'd be happy to show you what I'd usually do. Here's an (unfinished) example done that way:

Gave that a try. Didn't care for that versus the drag & look of custom color picker in 7.0. I'll slow down tommorrow and give that another try when its not so late. :)
