Hi, gang. I uploaded some of my first efforts with the FLUZI at:
1/2 & 1/3/03 today. I have to say that my respect for all who are using cameras with multiple choices has grown exponentially! Phew, I think it's going to take a while to learn this one, but I'm looking forward to the process.
I looked at your portfolio and think you have some wonderful shots there, storm being my fav. The first one makes me jealous, it was in the sixties today here in Baltimore. I went from a Fuji 3800 to my Pro 90 (10x w/IS), somewhat parallel to you jumping from your 2800 to the FZ10, so I know you are gonna have some fun. Sorry, but I can't call it a fluzi as that reminds me too much of a certain female acquaintance in my past, hehehe.
How do you like the handling of this camera? Have you done much with the manual settings? Is it easy (intuitive) to change settings? How is the manual focusing? I looked at one at Ritz Camera at the mall and liked how it felt. Nice and solid.
Hi, Ron. So far I really like the feel of the camera. Some have complained about the ergonomics of the grip, but no problems with that. This camera is built like a TANK! I haven't used much with manual settings, but the ring is responsive and the MF assist seems to be accurate. Basically I've been shooting in "P" mode and only adjusting the WB. That is easily done while still looking through the view finder. The photos posted yesterday are from my first expedition (all the way 3 miles down the road!) and I've still got a lot to learn. I think with a little (or maybe a lot) more practice, it will be the intuitive camera I've been longing for. Of course, I'm already looking at accessories! 8-)

Since you are only one of three people on site with the camera, I'm countin' on ya to keep us updated on how it handles! Especially trying to change settings quicly on the fly.

Well, I can certainly understand their hesitation! It took me almost a month to test the waters here and I've had many moments when I wondered if I should have quit when I was ahead. Now that I don't take things quite as personally and have developed a little thicker skin, I don't mind the scrutiny. I remain in awe of many of the contributors here and continue to soak up the inspiration they provide, but entering that first challenge was pretty intimidating.
