That is just amazing! I was wondering what you did with the white poster board until I looked hard at the reflection - that is what that was for right?

FYI
The white halo/outline on the left side of the berry is not from sharpening it is from the sheet of water and the reflection from the lighting.
This shot allowed me to do two of my favorites in one shot and not use a cliche setup.
1. A shot of a red berry using black background.
2. The dual colored reflected background
(I was happy to see I could do this in just a very small drop of water)
That is awesome!!!!! I love it :)!! You should keep taking pictures like that...I really like ones that are differnt and not the same old picture over and over again!!! One problem I had with the first shot was I got so close with the macro lens I did not leave enough room at the bottom of the photo below the drop to allow for cropping and composition.
Also I'm not sure if the feeling comes across for the actual size of the berry which I was after also. I have worked on it so long today I will have to judge that later :)
Do you think the drop of water gives that feeling easliy?

IMHO (and with a minimal amount of experience in this area) the scale of some items is very hard to convey in macro photography. With some subjects (bugs and flowers fore example) you do not need a comparison because people know what size the item is. With other items it is not so easy to convey. You seem to have reached a middle ground here. You can't tell exactly how small the item is, but the droplet makes you realize that it is small. The worst thing I think you can do is put something totally unrelated in the shot to give perspective. I've only seen one shot like that that I REALLY liked...
I like this shot better because there is a little more color in the upper right corner and the leaf on the left came out better.
My wife and I trimmed this berry branch from a bush while Christmas shopping and I wanted to do something with it. She is an Acountant and had to work today (Year end) to make up for the week and a half off so I was tinkering in the garage with numerous ideas. I probably shot about 200-250 shots total and got maybe 3 or 4 I like really well.
