Just wanted to say that I like the photos. You did a really good job of finding the "downside" of your downtown. You've got some good captures. Interesting project.
Those are some good shots, why on the last photo did you decide to go to color rather than B&W?
My office has the green color that the gated doors have. I shot it in both B/W and color I'm using the color shot in my office. Just thought I'd post it to see if I got any feed back on it. I thought it was a strong shot for color (probably will remove it for the final post on the city that I do.)
The Mac gallery features make it so easy and I love the slide show feature. When I do the final post I'll be doing the site design myself so it will be more custom, but for sharing photos the .mac account makes it easy.
I didn't set up any of the shot everything (including the lemon) is just as I found it.

This is a good collection Todd. On a technical note, pretty much all of them could benefit from levels adjustment, since there are very few absolute white or black areas, just a lot of grays.
I just logged in on a pc and I see what you mean about them being grey. On my mac and when I print, there is better levels and contrast. I hate that there is so much difference between Mac and PC monitors. I keep my calibrated for video work and when I do photos I always use my printer color profile. I guess before I post the finals I'll have to find a happy medium.

I am using a PC, and my monitor is calibrated pretty well. As you say, it's a shame there's that difference between the PC and MAC monitor.

I was going to say the same thing about the levels, they blend so much on my monitor and I've calibrated it recently also. Some excellent shots in there, the dispair and run down condition of some areas. Good work.
You can really tell that they are in need of contrast when you are viewing the thumbnails, the frame is true black and the web page is true white, but when you look at the shots inside they look very grey. Can you see this on your Mac monitor?

The Frames are not part of the photos they are added from the .mac account. The photos look fine when I print then and view them on my monitor. I have true black on the dumpster in (a number of shots) and the contrast is great. I even run them through photoshop levels to check and they all look fine It's a mac to pc thing. I have had problems with people being able to open CMYK files on a pc But the mac will open them fine. I've been told mac monitors are higher res and all kinds of things. Do you have your colors set to millions or thousands (or 256 for that matter) I keep it set to millions. I don't know I just make them look good for printing. I know web designers use both a mac and PC to check site because of diffrences like that. I Give up!! I do have a PCrgb profile that I can set my monitor too. When I do that it loses the contrast. Guess I'll edit with that profile. (Although then they look really dark on my normal settings)
Interesting shots Todd. I have only begun my experience in the world of digital photography. But I do have a "little" previous experience of the old fashioned kind and they look great. The true (behind the scenes)talent of a photographer: to see the things other people are so often overlooking and neglecting to appreciate.

It has to be thr color sync profiles we are all using. I showed people at work on my pc there and my mac (laptop that I bring in) And they look completely different I don't get it! I work in graphic design and video production so I deal with White and Black balances all day. I have to meet NTSC standards and prepare art for printers everyday. I don't know why there is such a discrepancy with my shots here. I'm just getting frustrated! I know when I print the shots I deal with a 20% dot gain so I compensate for it, but on my screen they look fine. I even went back and did an auto level corretion in photoshop on my raw images and they look the same. I'll post a raw image and a auto level corrected image and see what you guys think.
Sorry for the rant!! I'm frustrated and I just came down with the chicken pox (at 30!!)
I give up I guess I'll repost them with the contrast a little hot on my end and see what you guys think!

I just deleted and am reposting the shots. I redid the levels a little hot on my end to see if these look better. I guess it could be my NTSC Profile. NTSC color standard is kinda bad. The joke is that it stands for Never The Same Color,
