Any of you computer geeks have a way to help me out of this one?
I was playing with a nice big multi-layered SciFi file on CS3 when the power went out. It just now came back on, several hours later. When I went back to get my file I get the message: Wrong kind of document - cannot open
Windows Explorer tells me this is how the file is now listed:

It doesn't have the .psd suffix and has a different symbol in front of it, rather than the usual dark blue PSD one.
Anybody got any ideas on how I can get this file back?

And yes, technoshroom you folks in the southern bit of the San Francisco area had the good vibes this time.
To avoid this and other wonderful weirdness the next time...... go out and buy yourself a un-interuptible power supply (UPS) to run your computer and monitor and any external hard drives with. A good one will cost 100 - 150 US. I used computers for 25 years before I got one. I took a power hit and lost a piece of hardware that was dear, cost wise. I'd never in that 25 years run a UPS. Now I recommend them to anyone who asks. Cheap insurance, both hardware and software.
