The extra week was because we thought a month-long challenge would have a lot more entries than a regular weekly challenge... maybe because it was December, not as many people submitted as we thought.
Given that these were what people thought were their best shots from an entire month with no challenge topic restrictions, I think the extra voting time is good because I'd like to go back and give these all more attention than a usual challenge. So even if the number of entrys is average (which also surprised me), I say the two weeks are still a good idea.
After the initial shock wore off, I too think the 2-week voting period is good. I was surprised as well by the average number of entries. I though pretty much everyone would submit, being a "free study".
Agreed, it's been long and a painful wait. I will admit I got a lot of votes but I expected more comments. Still it was a good challenge and some great entries. I enjoyed the voting.
Well, I've only gotten three votes in the past two days; it looks in retrospect like two weeks is maybe a bit long for voting. It will be a painful wait until Wednesday evening...
