You can just buy the adapter for the stupid olympus connector and add your own flash. Slaves worked really well for my Oly C3000. However, for my Oly C5050, I've had mixed results with slaves. I'm not sure how it is for your camera, but my C5050 in full manual mode only has slow flash, which seems pretty stupid and I'm not sure why. With my silly little cheap slave I got at Ritz for 20 bucks, it works. For the monolights that I borrowed, the slave function did not work well at all. The slow mode made the flash fire late, which triggered the slave even later, and they were not sync'ed with the shutter. I could only get it to fire with the camera in program mode, which meant everything was overexposed way way way too much. Hopefully it works out for you.
