That's really too bad. I was thinking about that the other day, as I was processing an image for the Xmas and Open challnge on the same night. Had to completely change mindset when I switched to process the second one. Also, I went over the challnge topic over and over as I was submiting the shots, making sure I had the proper rules in mind.
it's easy to get confused. same thing happened to me with my vehicle challenge pic. i wrote and had it dq'd because i used a non-legal filter. it didn't hit me that it was an open challenge until a few days into the challenge.

i actually cant believe nobody recommended this for a dq, because i was worried about my poor job of hiding the editing.. if you look at the mountainyops, its quite obvious where i screwed up my burn

Rules are rules. If people would start following them we wouldn't have to DQ as many people.

And it's not like maxpower obejected. He admitted right after voting that his entry should be DQed. He knew he edited outside of the rules.
How's that a "God complex" from the SC?
I've been pushing for SC members to show up at your doorstep with a bouquet of roses and a personal apology, but for some reason, they seem to be quite against it. However, if it's possible for you to offer criticism more constructive than "lame," maybe we'd understand your problem better.
Well, when you have 16 year olds on the site council I tend to question their judgement sometimes.
Age has nothing to do with what the Site Council does. And as for any opinions Ben might offer on just about any photographic topic, I'd certainly consider them to be quite valid. I've spent time chatting with Ben and honestly never remember his age. I am, instead, impressed with his abilities.
You don't need to try to generalise and use plurals. We all know who you're talking about. Following the rules isn't a judgement call. It's black and white. You either follow them or you don't. If you don't, you get DQd. It's simple.
What does age have to do with being on the site council? A 16 year old can inforce the rules as good as anyone else...I would have never known Konador's age without looking at his profile, it certainly doesn't show through his helpfull comments and knowledge of photography.
What good are rules if they are not going to be inforced...everyone knows or should know the rules before submitting a photo to a challenge, if you choose to ignore the rules and enter anyway then you run a high risk of getting dq'd it's that simple, I don't understand what all the complaining is about?
I was dq'd for "on the edge" and also have MANY friends who have been as well. The response they received from site council was at best very lame.
Maybe you should have a meeting with all your friends and read the rules together.

To me, not following the rules is lame. We shouldn't have to spoogize for DQing a photo. The people DQed should have read the rules.
And as for our '16 year old sc member'. he's one of the best, so back off.
