Okay I'm a jerk, and am the only one who feels this way. I've been on DP for years. I'll leave for a few months and then come back for a few weeks. I use to to participate in every challenge, then in some and now only if I have something to add.
The reason is not that I suck nor that my pic's get low scores. I enjoy DP and have learned a lot. If my pic places in the top half I win.
It's the voting on pics. I'm not the type that submits and does not vote, I' like community and believe you should participate fully. I just become nauseous after awhile, there are so many pics I can take that are of your kids and your love of foliage.
I love kids, and your kids are adorable. Your garden is immaculate. But it does not apply to every challenge. Sorry I just had to get this off my chest.
Your gonna blast me I know, blast away you automatically win, I won't even revisit this thread again. Blast away.
PS. before anyone writes "You can't tell me what to photograph", Your right 100%. But please don't start a thread "why did my kids pic get a low score" and take it personally.
Okay, so you're only coming back to this thread when you're logged out. Fine.
If you were writing to one (1) person then you'd have a point....and you could do it in a PM. You are not writing to one person, however, you are writing to the entire site and lumping all kid pics and all flower pics into one basket as if someone could do something about it. Pshaw!
For the record I have no kids and a paltry garden. I do enjoy taking and entering nature shots. No, they don't fit every challenge...however, in every challenge you will find a new person who will put them in.
If you have a complaint about anything particular please let us know.
I hear ya though... I mean, what's with all the lit photos? Every single challenge seems to have photos illuminated by the sun or studio lights or even a little LED flashlight. Some of them are great. I adore a well-lit scene now and then, but it doesn't apply to every single challenge and becomes nauseating after a while. Go out and take some photos is total darkness!
