Some soft (fuzzy) fabric in both black & white - for baby to lie on, implied nude to wrap in, etc.
Milk crates - to stand short people on, sit on or prop against (covered with fabric)
Columns or pedestals, artificial plants, gauzy fabric, GOOD artificial flowers, a few different stools/chairs, fairy dresses, extra black shirts, wings, halos, hawaiian leis, stack of books, old patio table, fog machine, bubble machine, colored umbrellas, stage make-up, a few wigs....
... I could go on and on. I find that the longer you shoot, the more props you collect. I buy some of my "props" at flea markets & yard sales - others are from photog prop sources.
I would suggest thinking of one "scene" you wish you create and buy/make/collect the things you need for that. Then pick another. Trying to fill a studio all at once would probably leave you with many shelves full of things you don't really need or won't use very often.

For the last year or 2 Shecoya and I have been adding to the prop closet (which is now a whole room). Random and inane things, sometimes. When you need to kick a shoot up a notch sometimes the more random the better. Thrift stores and dollar stores (and liquor stores) have a brazillion little gems that can provide hours of entertainment and inspiration.
dead bugs, vases, 2 wine glasses, a placemat, 1 plain coffee mug, pink boa, pink wig, false eyelashes, mardigra beads, name cards, a pot, a red tie, makeup, nearly dead pumpkins, a fork, rocks, masks, makeup remover, tissues, candles, markers, tablecloths, photo paper, sunglasses, and facepaint.
hmmm, I don't actually have a prop box, but I'm just looking around my room thinking about what I have used and what I could use. Huh, I guess my room IS my prop box :)
