yeah they're gnarly, aren't they? my garden is full of them (and look out, I heard they bite humans, and inject some nerve damaging nasty poison stuff.... - fer real)
LOL, one of those SOBs stung me one day along time ago...never realized what it was until I saw your picture and just googled it. All I remember was I was crawling under a house to run wires in New Orleans and next thing I knew I felt like I had been stuck with something or bitten...I slapped at it and that bug is what was there. Was weird because I had to pull it and the long 'beak' out of my leg. Thanks for the pic and final illumination.
