Any tips on how I can make my profile photo to be portrait instead of lanscape? And does it have to be 120X90 or can it be about the same like 120X76?

it can be portrait, just upload a portrait one instead.
and as far as the smaller size, no, but you can pad the smaller pic with enough white pixels or whatnot to make it the required size.
