Just wondering what everyone has their screen resolution set to. Personally I am using 1024x768 so that the photos fit on the screen better (i.e. don't have to scroll). I change it to 800x600 later in the week to see the difference and adjust votes. This way if a photo strikes me as being good in both views I know it must be.
By knowing what everyone else is using it might be helpful to preview your own submission by those standards. Also, if someone does not like your photo and you set your viewing to see what they see, perhaps the puzzlement of weird scoring will come to light.
So, what size monitor and what resolution are you using?
I'm using a 19" monitor at 1280x960 / 32bit color / 85Hz on the refresh rate...
I don't usually see a need to kick back down to lower resolution. I think all images look ok at my current resolution on the 19" monitor. I never try to get down to the nitty gritty detail of an image by enlarging it's view on my screen...
Ha, ha. So far only one of my eyes is wigging out. It's actually an integrated system. The Gateway Destination system which contains a tv tuner with the video card and uses a wireless keyboard. It's connected to my stereo and functions as my tv surround system as well as my computer. It's a perfect system for my small apartment.

i agree with that.. and this raises an important point about the subjectivity of the voting system which i would love to discuss in slight depth, but my two hour late 30 minute lunch break has just ended.
if that's the case, people should probably use 72, since that's what the mac peoples' displays use.

i believe it should be in your monitor driver configuration options. If you''re using a variant of photoshop, you can also adjust photoshop''s display properties to compensate for your monitor''s idiosyncracies.
dunno about the imac settings. does the monitor control panel have a gamma adjuster? anyone with an imac out there that''s done this?
