I currently have the Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM and 50mm f/1.4 lenses for my 10D. I like to shoot in more of a documentary style, so f/3.5-4.5 is just not fast enough. I am now trying to decide if I should expand by adding primes or zooms to my kit. The two options I am considering are:
ZOOM: 16-35mm f/2.8L USM, 24-70 f/2.8 USM, 70-200 f/2.8 USM at $3,720 and 6.86 lbs
PRIME: 20 f/2.8 USM, 35 f.2.0, 85 f/1.8 USM, 200 f/2.8 USM at $1,605 and 4.60 lbs
I believe the zooms have the advantage in flexibility, but does this advantage justify the additional $2000 and 2 lbs? I'm just looking for some opinions before I do some personal christmas shopping. |
