How do I know if our team is "finalized" and if so...whether it is in the first 48 to do so?

Click on the League button on the toolbar. Yes there are more than 48 finalized teams, your team is within the first 48. Congrats!!

Go to the league page and find the teams screen. If you're fianlized you'll be in the top section and you'll have a number.
