I'm in the middle of shooting the Canadian Olympic Rowing Trials, for selection to our teams going to Athens next year. I'm not experienced with rowing, but is it ever hard. Dark, bumpy ride in a boat, fast and distant subjects, no wake allowed, shooting east (into the 'sun') etc. Cold, too. It's been snowing on and off here. I don't break out the 420EX until late in the second session, but I was surprised at the range at which it was effective. 70-200 F4L used. Need more power! 300 2.8 would be ideal. Didn't think I'd ever say this but if I keep getting paying gigs I'm gonna trade up to the 70-200 F2.8L I think. I'm finding that the extra stop is critical in the gloom!
