I have been asked by a small non-profit group (church), to create a design for their organization. They want Mt. Ranier to be the basis of the design. Since I live in Virginia, it's a bit difficult to get photos. I simply do not wish to "steal" someone's photo to work from. I know that there are a number of dpc'ers that live up that way, and I am asking if someone would be willing to send me a decent shot to use as the basis for the design. (This is not a paying job!)
Linda, here are some photos to look at. Mt Rainier can be a bit allusive so I actually do not have a lot of quality photos of it. The quality of these is a bit mixed but since it would be for the basis of a design, one of these may work. I have higher resolution files of these that I can send you. Maybe others have some photos too that they may want to share.
They seem to be looking for basically just the mountain, especially showing some of the relief of the terrain. I'm planning on doing some sketches of it with lots of snow, and some without (is it ever without snow?) to see what they like the best. I definitely think it's going to have to be something showing something of the "ruggedness" of the mountain.

This gallery has some small images for you to check out. Unfortunately, we had a great clear day, but were on the wrong side to get the most dramatic profile. I was also moving (on a steam train) and pretty far away, but at least they're the right mountain.
The sunrise photo is from a couple of years ago. I (try to) sell a different version of that one, but I think it's OK if they'd want to use that; the print version's in my DPC portfolio.
Of course, there's some unusual things to deal with in that neighborhood ...

GeneralE- I had to laugh at your post - I've never seen a Volcano Evacuation sign before! Never imagined such a thing! Also- your Ranier sunrise is breathtaking, I just love that shot.
