How's it on the front element? I briefly attached my reverse coupling ring and my pentax 50mm lens to try macros with my 50 1.4, but figured that the weight of the rig was probably too heavy for what it was designed for. Even supporting it with a hand, I didn't feel comfortable doing it.

Its fine - the lens is really quite small - maybe about an inch and a half long and light
I've hung my 50/1.4 off the end of my 100mm Macro and it seemed fine. I have the older model Canon 100mm macro which changes length as it focuses (no USM) and I wouldn't recommend try to autofocus, but other than that, it seemed OK, at least for occasional use. (But what do I know?) I have a couple pictures taken during the "Macro" challenge week using this setup in my Challenge Out-Takes collection.
