Photoshop 7 was basically Photoshops 6 with more Web integration built-in, and having used Photoshop CS for about an hour I get the feeling that it is Photoshop 7 with a bit more photography stuff bolted on. Is it just me or does anyone else get the same impression?
I was just playing for a short time, but I've only found two truly new features. Both of these features are available from either Adobe or another company for less cost than the upgrade to Photoshop CS. The features that I am talking about are the raw plug-in -- this can be purchased from Adobe, and the new shadow and highlight filter -- I have found similar products from several companies ranging from 30 dollars to over 100 dollars.
All the other features of CS seem to just simply be more dialogues for achieving the same results as I can achieve in other ways. I am hoping that some of you who have used CS for longer can point me in the direction of more new features, at present I can see no reason to spend any money on this package though. Maybe it is just me, but I think that Adobe are losing their way.
