Apologies if this has come up before (I did a quick search, but could not find anything).
How do you create your own border in photoshop and save it for use on other photos? I have Elements 5 and want to design a border with my company name on to use with all our photos.
Just decide how you are gonna do it with experimentation ... then do it again while recording the ACTION.
From then on it will be two key hits to reproduce it.
... erm ... I meant mouse clicks ...
Three days ago, I did not know a THING about Photoshop Actions ... now I am recording repetitive tasks like sizing down to 640X in steps to try to keep the best resolution for DPC challenges and framing my prints for DPC Prints automatically and all that by using actions that I create. I promise ... it is all in the help file of Photoshop and you can do it with experimentation.
The greatest part is ... there are LOTS of actions created by other people out there and once you know how to use them you can download other peoples' actions and play with em.
Oh ... you wanted to do BATCH processing? ... Sorry ... I am just learning and thought you wanted a fast way to process one at a time. But if you create the frame/border and save it somewhere ... you can get photoshop to go fetch it and set it up on photos of certain sizes.
I dunno if we are on the same page or not ... sorry ... just excited about being able to use actions and create actions ...

To create a frame/border in PhotoShop, once you have your image open (I mean on desktop), select "rectangular marquee tool" or press key (M). Then run on your picture your cursor in diagonal. You'll then see the dooted lined rectangular ... then, select a color that you would like for yor Frame/border, go to "edit" then select "Stroke" and from there you'll first see the color choosen and follow the possibilities offered...
This has some good tips and hints (especially in the forums) for doing things. There are often ways to overcome the fact that Elements doesn't support actions.
To create a template, just create the border on a blank document with no background. Have the frame all on 1 layer, then save the PSD (or elements equivilent).
From then on, you can just open that file, and drag the frame onto a new photo :)

ROFL at Greetmir's comment! I know what you mean, I get so excited about learning a new technique that I babble away to my husband until I realise he has a rather glazed look on his face and doesn't understand a word I am saying. That's where DPC is great! Most people know what you are talking about and can offer further helpful advise!
