wonder if I should have gone with the original instead of cropping it to really get down on the droplets ... didn't think this would ribbon, and lens flare is a bit of a problem, but still thought it would do better than a 5.3
this was really fast, and just shooting to shoot. after that, I wanted sardines, in a sweet tin, uhm, can? With a rolling thing to open the tin thng.
Well, they didn't have those, so I checked the veggies and fruits, and saw a pack of 3 peppers. Ok, that will do. After that I walked to the sewing-department in the supermarket, and thought about the fact that it would be really cool to sew a zipper into one pepper. Why? No clue ;)
I screwed up 2 peppers, and this one too, actually, but there was a way to not see that part (because of the shallow DoF ofcourse.
I love my final result. Got it also as a print available
I loved the color of the flamingo, and decided not to notice the other technical flaws in the shot. I also forgot that one of the top 10 in Shallow DOF II was a headshot of a flamingo, as well as Rick's lovely flamingo from the Wildlife III challenge.
I liked the first one, which i rated highly, better, but my guess is you would have been hammered on either one to some extent because your focus was on infinity, not a shallow dof.
Turnabout ... any response on the question I posed above re the severe crop I did to my image?

Thats a tough one - I like the one with 3 droplets because the middle one seems to jump out at you more. But both are really pleasing to look at. Not much help I know but I think thats a tough one.
