A hands-on workshop and seminar covering everything you need to know to shoot successful photos through the acrylic at the world's largest aquarium.
The seminar portion covers equipment, lighting, exposure, white balance, composition and creative techniques via digital, slide-illustrated lecture and handouts. In addition, Dr. Bruce Carlson, former director of the Waikiki Aquarium and now Vice President for Exhibits, Education & Conservation at the GA Aquarium, will present a guest lecture in which he will show and discuss some of his work (including cutting-edge HD video of aquatic animals) and still images he took that are used in exhibition graphics and on calendars and notecards at the Aquarium.
Following the seminar portion, we will shoot in the most photogenic exhibit areas within the Aquarium with personalized, 1-on-1 instruction. Tuition also includes a follow-up personal, written critique by Charles of 2 images of choice you captured during the workshop. Cost is $149, which includes lunch and admission to the Georgia Aquarium. (Admission alone is a $24 value!) Limited to 22 participants.
sounds cool but that is crystal's birthday and we are going down to Tampa. I really liked the aquarium but i didn't get crap there crystal got some pretty decent shots. if anyone is thinking about it and you haven't been you really should check it out. it is one hell of an aquarium. here are some shots we took there.
I just saw a TV show about this aquarium -- very impressive (they have TWO whale sharks there!). Sounds like a great workshop, but a little too far away for me to go.
