Basically, you'll need to point the two towards each other. You'll need to tell the place that is hosting the site that you have a domain.
Then you'll need to sign into the place that you bought the domain and enter nameserver information. This information comes from your host. There are usually two and they will probably look something like "ns.placeyougothosting.com" and "ns2.placeyougothosting.com"
When you've entered info in both of those places, it can take up to a day or sometimes two for them to actually connect.
To edit the site itself, you'll need to figure out how to log in through your hosting company. Most places have a web interface if you prefer that or they'll probably give you ftp information if you know how to use that. If your site is already done and all you need to change is contact information, you can probably just open the file of the page you want to change, find the existing info and type over it without having to know too much about code, etc.
