I am curious about this council. Who else is on the site council? Was there an election? Were there nominations? How does one learn of vacancies? In general, how does this all work? Is there a place that we can go to learn more about the duties, responsibilities, and obligations of the site council?
Having served on committees, associations, organizations, charities, and board of directors in the past, I know that it is often a challenging and thankless job to volunteer to support a community effort, just like this one at DPC. These DPC members should be commended for their extra work and efforts that benefit us all.
At a yacht club that I belong too, we always say that there are two boards running the place, one in the boardroom and one at the bar. Often, the one at the bar revolts and tries to run over the actual board, which is never any fun for anyone - "you gotta love politics". So, everyone should offer their support to these new council members and appreciate the difficult tasks that they will manage for us.

Details about the Site Council can be found on the About page. The call for new council members was put in the forums a while ago (few weeks, i think), along with a nomination email address/form, and all the current council discussed and voted upon those (self)nominations. Simple really :o)
