Hello everyone, its time I got me a business card too, I'm a web developer and software developer by trade and am starting to do more freelance. I'd love some feedback from you guys about my two potential cards.
The first strikes me as the work of a Graphic designer, not a photographer. Although not quite as strong the second has that feel as well do to the white swirl.
You don't state here or on your card what type business you are promoting. don't expect people to remember when they come acrossed it in a drawer in 6 months. If you have several dissimilar fields it's better to go with seperate cards for each field.
I have two cards, one for massage therapy, one for photography.
I agree with _eug. I like the first card better because the photo is more graphic-y and goes better with the swirl than in the second card but neither really strike me as a photographer's card - more of a graphic illustrator. I do think you could actually take out the building and just use the swirl if you added in some info about what you actually do.
Well, Christian, I like both cards for personal reasons. I lived in Cornwall, surfed there, and worked in tin mines up top and underground (South Crofty and Mount Wellington). Cornwall has a special place in my heart. I lived around the North Coast in places like Portreath, Camborne, Redruth. Is the Triple Vintage cider they used to sell still there. Totally knock out... several Truro market days that brought me to my knees... I said it all before.....
Back to the cards, I like the silhouette myself.
Keep up the good work and lets see some more of the lovely local scenery. Best get up super early in the morning like Falc does in the Peak District.
I make my money doing web/software development, I do freelance on the side of my full time job but I'll probably be getting a formal business card for that through the company my friends and I are setting up.
So yes, what am I plannign on using this card for? Good question, I'll think some more on it!!
Can't say I've ever tried triple vintage cider, I'm a real ale kind of guy.....
Getting up early???? I think I'll stick with the much easier to get up for "evening light".
What everyone has already said is true. I just wanted to add that the text is not thick enough to be noticed or read well on such a detailed background.
