OK I followed the tutorial for resizing my pic so I have 8x10 at 300dpi and have printed it at a photo kiosk and like the quality of the print. I want to upload it to DPCPrints but what size should the file be? Right now it's at 5,816k and would take some time to upload at dial up speeds.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The files I upload to DPCPrints are generally between 5 and 7MB. It takes a bit even on cable so I can't imagine what dialup would be like. Unfortunately, I don't think they accept zip files for the print images.

You might want to try saving at 11 (95%) quality instead of 12 (100%). If you've resampled to get up to 300 DPI, you don't need to go that high... you only need to resample to 150 DPI. As for zip, zipping jpegs actually does very little good, so that wouldn't be much help. Printable files don't necessarily need to be 5mb or larger -- I've seen many very crisp, high resolution files that were significantly smaller.

Mine are usually in the 5MB range, and take a while with DSL. I can't imaging how long it would take with dial-up. If cable or DSL is not in your future, you might try burning your file to CD, then taking it someplace that HAS high speed internet access that you can use. Library, University, etc.

I uploaded it and it took about half an hour. How long do you normally have to wait before it is approved? How do you know if it has been accepted?

Doesn't usually take longer than a day. Where it currently says review, it will say 'Accepted, you can now sell your print' or something like that.
