This was the problem I've experienced during last challenge (all alone). I've set up the brightness and contrast of my picture with photoshop 7. And when I look at my picture with iexplore, acdsee or netscape, my picture is lighter. I've set up the gamma correction of my monitor using adobe gamma, but still the same problem: photoshop seems to have different settings.
I'm wondering if your color profile is correct in PS. Are you working with the image and saving it a sRGB? Open an image up in PS and check under EDIT>COLOR SETTINGS. See if your working spaces is RGB: sRGB. I'm not sure, but I think that might help. If that's already set correctly, then I'm not sure about why it's displaying that way...

Hi,
I've checked and I have RGB: sRGB IEc61966-2.1. Dont know what that means...
Sounds like what you should have. I've read somewhere that html reads rgb and srgb differently - so you have to make sure you are saving as srgb since that's what html prefers. Doesn't sound like that's your issue. Sorry, I'm not sure on this one. I would check into the manual or help sections of photoshop.
in Photoshop go 'view/proof setup/ and then select 'monitor RGB'. That will make the pic look the same in pshop as it does in the browsers and give you an accurate editing enviro.
For some reason it ALWAYS defaults to 'working CMYK'.
it's a pain, becuase i can't figure out how to set it permanently
