I was wondering if I am anywhere in the league of starting on the right foot. Tell me how these look. I am open to any and all thoughts, suggestions, tips, and constructive criticism, I porbably really need the help. (I realize that I have the date on there, my future photos won't have them)

Welcome -
There are terrific photographers here you can learn lots from. I have, but you will learn most from participating in challenges.

Suggestion: Turn off the Date/Time stamp on the image. It detracts from the subject.

The flower images are decent. If you are not aware of these concepts already you will want to learn about Depth of Field (DOF) and the Rule of Thirds (ROT) to improve the appearance of your images. Also, you will want to have a decent photoediting program for post processing of images. But stay within the DPC rules for allowed post-processing adjustments.

Hi goinskiing

Don't worry about where you start. You have come to a great place to learn. My first entry was so bad, its embarassing to look back on it now. But the kind folks here told me what I did wrong and how to do it better. Read all the tutorials, look at other's photos and read the comments on them. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And enter lots of challenges.

Your florals are fair. They need more depth. The red rose is pretty flat and the yellow one has too many shadows on it. Your zoo picture is too small to really tell much.

Yeah thanks, that helps out a lot, those are the kind of things I was hoping to learn, the advice is GREATLY appreciated.
