My wife is from NZ, So i have been fortunate enough to travel there 3 times. Will you be spending any time in Wellington? If so try to visit Mt Victoria. The View on a clear day is awesome. Great place for photos. Also try to visit the te papa museum. It is free to enter and is loaded with NZ history. Very nice museum, they have a earthquake simulator which is kind of cool. To see the museum properly you need a few hours. Also if you are in wellington. visit the Cuba St Mall it is an interesting part of the city.
