Hi, on Wednesday afternoon I'm going to be taking some portrait photos of a local band after school. We're using the drama studio there which is a totally black room, with stage lighting on the ceiling. I'll do some outside too if the weather is nice. I know I'll probably need my reflecter disk to bounce light up onto their faces from below to stop any harsh shadows, but I have another problem. They want to wear suits, which are black. How can I make them stand out from the black background and not just blend in? I was also wondering which lens to use. I have a 75-300mm, and a 28-105mm (on the way). The 300mm will blur out the background more I imagine, but I'm not sure if I would need that with a black background. What would you suggest?
Also, any general portrait tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)
