Let's say I choose to shoot my challenge shot with my camera in RAW format rather than JPG fine or some such setting. I can process that RAW image accordingly, ending up with the requisite 640x pixel JPG image for the challenge ... but then someone DQ's me. No problem, I get a message that says, "Please e-mail us the original file ..." Well, the original file is HUGE -- too big for my e-mail account. How do I handle this?

The capacity of YOUR e-mail account shouldn't matter here... the recipient's account is the one that would bear the load.

If you have a website (space) you can upload it there and send the admins a note with the address from which they can download it with FTP.

You can also try using a file compression (e.g. Stuffit) utility to segment the file into mailable chunks.

Some email servers/ISPs will not send attachments larger than a certain limited size, often about 4-6mb.

You no longer need to email the file, you can use the form that you get access to after a DQ request to upload it to DPChallenge.

When you shoot RAW the camera also embeds a .jpg file, which you can extract using the Canon software. Just send that...

as long as you shoot the 10D. (C: I WISH I HAD ONE!!!

Thanks. This seems to be the best solution suggested so far. I don't currently have a photo in this status, I was just trying to be prepared.
