Has anyone gone from a D60 to a 10D? if so is it THAT much better? are the exposure issues fixed? was it worth it?
I just bought a 1V and love it...going back to film some 10FPS is niiice!
Main differences I've seen when using a 10D is that it focuses faster, but less reliably (probably because it is a faster)
More focus points, not so good colour rendition (for personal values of 'good'), bit faster, slightly different construction. Despite the flaws, maybe its the camera the D60 should have been. As such there isn't much different - its more a D60 version 2 than a different camera.
Interestingly, the internal write speeds are 15-20% slower on the 10D; the 10D is closer to the 300D in this respect.
I read somewhere that the D60's focusing is more accurate than the 10D's, that this difference is no big deal with film, but the FOV difference makes it more noticeable. I haven't seen results that verify this claim though.
that is interesting...regarding exposure issues Gordon, i seem to have to over expose 1 stop or 1/2 stop sometimes and not others...just not very inconsistent I am finding.

As far as the AF mechanism, I'd have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure the
D60 uses the one from the 650 and the 10D uses a newer one (the model eludes me).

This in the evaluative matrix mode or when doing partial or center weighted ?
I've pretty much given up on using the evaluative modes for anything that has interesting light or composition, but otherwise I haven't really had any problems at all.
i looked back and it is between center weighted averaging which i usually expose at +1/1 or evaluative,
what setting do you use primarily? partial?
mostly i'll take outside shots of people or landscapes what would be best for that? thanks
I use all 3 depending what I'm shooting. When I'm paying most attention, I use partial mode, when I'm just shooting and not worrying about the camera I use evaluative.
Actually come to think about it, I don't use center weighted much at all - if it gets to the point that I care about the exposure enough to not use evaluative/ matrix, then I want to pick the exposure more carefully.
