Easy on the effects there! I bet you could have had an excellent shot with no obvious Photoshop effects.
Please, I beg you, put Photoshop away!!!
I have shown little ability to paint. If I (or anyone) wants to create art using a camera and software, well I think that's great -- no toxic mess or expensive materials.
There's no law which says all photographically-derived works have to be photo-realistic. I prefer to apply these effects with curves for more control, but you've come up with an effective combination here.
Now, people are completely free to not LIKE this "style," but I don't think it's fair to deride it as somehow not a valid art form.
I've been following sslickk's progress for a little while both through postings in the forum and challenges.
My plea to put Photoshop away is based on all the photos I've seen him produce in the last few weeks.
His photography has a lot of potential, but IMO I really think he should work on getting great pictures as if he were using a film camera first... once that has been mastered (if that's ever possible for any of us!), then he can create wonderful Photoshopped work.
I just get the feeling that there are no shots whatsover that sslickk takes which aren't immediately inverted/ colours changed/ posterised/ some Photoshop effect which changes the photo completely.
Just some friendly advice, I want to see you do well!
Bobster,, thankyou for your view that also helps.. I think you will see when the food, light, and science challenges are over that I can take a picture and not PS it immediately. These three are only corrected (USM,C&B, small color correction ) nothing else.
Then let's revisit this. <<>>
also look at this one is not PS'd beyond, USM/Colour correction.
