Just giving everyone a heads up that next Monday's Member Challenge and Wednesday's Open Challenges will be running under our newly revised rules (yes, they're finally ~done).
We'll be running all challenges in November using these new rules. If there aren't any critical issues, then we will continue to use them into December and the New Year.
The rules and a related announcement will be made on Sunday evening.
WOW!!!!
I thought it was all a scheme to keep us interested in staying. WOW DPC rules!
So we'll all be ready for a marathon read of the multi-page, multi-cultural, multi-loop-hole, simplified version
......just kidding
Looking forward to seeing them.
So the rules will be given out at the same time as the challenge is announced? Why not a couple days earlier so we try to understand the changes before the challenge actually begins? The raging debate will happen no matter when the rules come out.

More b!tching and moaning ensured if rules come out simultaneously. ;-)

We're hoping that we made them so much shorter, easy to read and understand that you'll only need a number of minutes to digest them all.
Can you tell us what the key changes are ????????????
From a practical standpoint, what's allowed isn't all that different from the current rules. Among the key changes...
You'll be allowed to remove sensor dust and hot pixels in Basic! Don't try to clone out anything else though. ;-)
The Literal Artwork rules will be significantly relaxed. If the voters can TELL it's artwork, the entry will be legal and you'll be at the mercy of the voters.
The term "Major Elements" is completely gone. Instead, we'll focus on allowing touchup or removal of minor imperfections. You can use filters, but adding new features like motion blur or textures where none existed before isn't allowed.
The rules will be in a new format that should be both shorter and easier to understand. We're aiming for better clarity here rather than big changes.
All thumbs must be washed and well manicured prior to being displayed on the site. Excessive use of nail polish is prohibited unless tested by Site Council. The use of profanity is limited to photo descriptions and only if deemed funny by 3% of the voting members. Pictures of cats are allowed only as very poorly lit entries and woody must be ignited and fired from a cannon before being included as part of an image. The use of a group hug is restricted to the hours of 3AM and 4AM in Iceland and 430AM in Newfoundland. All bagheads are now required to utilize duct tape as head dressing as this has proven to more durable and generally has more of a lustre. This lustre makes them look funnier.
Construction of fence is under way to keep the following characters in check: Captian Danger!! and his sidekick Blinky
Finally, all members with the letter "R" in their name must change it to the number "4". A reasearch team assigned by the Canadian government felt this measure needed and it is more inclusive and keeps in the spirit of confusion already in place on this site.
We look forward to your compliance and the continue to enjoy your excessive whining and need to be seen as "Artists". hmmm
