Ok all the talk that goes on about a challenge when it is posted, especially Bokeh the talk was in at least 4 different forums about the little rings/circles and that it is not SDOF, so people like myself go out all week trying to make something happen with these little circles only to find out that they meant nothing and a simple DOF would have worked just fine. I even posted before the voting a site describing Bokeh, and even though a lot of people on here did not like the person’s site, they all said his explanation was very good.
And what was it? Them little circles. It just gets frustrating when some of the people are trying to follow what they believe to be the rules and others can just go and shoot anything they want and do well on the voting because it’s a nice pick, who cares about the rules. Then you got guys that think that they are the only ones allowed to have a voice on here and tell me to grow up, I hope we meet some time you can show me how to ignore the rules, and I got a few things I will show you to.

Yeah that does get frustrating. It also happens in every challenge so you might as well get used to it.

Unfortunately, you will find if you do more research that those little circles are an artifact of the lens and bokeh, they are not themselves the bokeh.
Bokeh (from the Japanese boke ぼけ, "blur"[1]) is a photographic term describing the subjective aesthetic qualities of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens. For example, causing an out-of-focus background image may reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.
Simply means the emphasis placed on the object in focus and the level of colour saturation and pure blend of de-focus on all objects surround. Bokeh occurs when your zoomed right into your subject using a wide apeture on a fast lens. E.g. photographing a flower tightly cropped on a Nikon 70-200 VR at f2.8 or close. Ursulas vs mine I had submitted this one - It had tons of circles but more of an abstract feel. Wasnt until the last day that I tried reshooting and tweaking my setup that I ended up with my entry.

Yes maybe, But I think what I need to do is stop reading these post about new challenges, and just make my own ass-umption of what the challenge is.
This was a last last second shot and ended up going with the one that had the best bokeh. Needless to say the shot needed work most of which I couldn't do given the editing limitations but I'm always trying something new so perhaps my next product shot will be much better.
