When we submit photos to a challenge how is the order of viewing decided? It seems to me that when I go to vote that the better photos are at the beginning of the pack. As I go down the list they seem to get worse in quality. Very rarely do I see one at the end of the pack that knocks my socks off. So my question is -- is someone viewing them first and putting them in a certain order or is it first come first served?
The photos are supposed to be presented in a different random order for each voter. How random it is I'm not sure as quite often if there are 2 photos of X in a challenge I will see them one after the other, but I'm pretty sure nobody is sorting them.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is also a perfectly random sequence of numbers :)
I tend to see what you describe too for some pictures, but then I also don't notice it when other pictures don't appear to be sorted, so it is probably just a co-incidence.
Maybe as you view and vote on more and more photos you are becoming desensitized by their beauty.
I thought this might be the case also but today I went back and looked at the photos that I voted on and as I thought the worst ones were being viewed by me last. IMHO!
Well, AFTER you vote the photos are all sorted for you from your best to your worst. But those that you haven't yet voted on are random. Try this- look at the first few photos in the thumbnail line up. Go to the main page to check your score. Come back to the challenge and the unvoted photos will be reshuffled for you. Also, the "already voted" pile reshuffles each time you go in and out but the fives all stay in the five pile etc.
I don't vote in shifts. When I am ready to vote I sit down and plan to spend at least an hour on my voting. I don't leave and come back and at that point I start at the first picture and keep on going. The worst are always at the end.
