I only took up photography recently, and don't have years of photography to draw on for no-date-limit challenges. The primary reason most of us are here is to learn how to get better... there are no prizes here other than an imaginary ribbon... so limiting the photo to the dates of the challenge pushes us to try new things rather than relying on what we've already done. If you're imaginative, there's usually SOME way of setting up a shot at short notice in the house, using normal lamps and props around the house that will fit a challenge. These challenges teach you to seek out good photos imaginatively, rather than just wait for nice views to happen. |
