I know that it uses the LANC connector, that most camcorders, and cameras use. I would also like to know, I have badly wanted a timer for timelapse.
Exactly, that would be so neat to communicate with your camera (with a laptop for example, or your pocket pc). For example, you could ask your camera to take pictures every minute or any other time. That could create great animations, that my camera cannot do alone.
Anyway, I've heard that it is kind of the same protocol used for Sony car radios.
The only thing that I have seen on the web for doing time elaspe capture was modifying the RM-DR1. Which can be found here: //www.inertia-llc.com/sandbox/rm-dr1-tl/ Personally I haven't had the time to make this yet.
