I vote on the photographer's idea (If I can pull it out :) ), the technical aspects, the processing, and how the final photo came out in the end. Then if it meets the challenge, if it does not I will vote downwards but usually not that much. I very rarely vote lower than a 4, then it would have to be bad.
Whether I like a photo or not plays little in voting.

Whether I like the photo or not plays 100% in my voting after I've decided if it meets the challenge. In my opinion theres no point being technically perfect or original if the end product is a non-appealing photo.
My previous post was intended to be sarcastic in reply to the comment:

This seems against the whole point of voting if you ask me.
WEll, my point in say if you don't like don't vote, is a personal view.
If there is an image I REALLY don't like I don't vote on it.
Meaning, I don't like the subject. I don't vote on snake images, because I have an extreme phobia and can't stand to look at them.

Since you brought it up, and we're ranting here. Totally off subject, but we sell snakes at my work, and one got lose the other day. Still havn't found the little sucker, and I hate them with a passion. I'm expecting that some day while I'm doing paperwork, he'll fall from the ceiling onto my head. Argh...
Everyone has bad days JC.....I didn't mean to sound so....judgemental! :) I'm the assistant manager at a low income apartment complex....and I was a bit overwhelmed yesterday....even more than usual. Between the child abuse, drugs, and psychotic people....sometimes it's a bit too much! Anyway, sorry bout the comment! :)
I'd like to see mandatory comments on 1s or 2s and 9s or 10s. Because if I ever get a 10 or I get a 1, I want to know why! Don't just give me a 1 with no explanation...
