That was my outtake. I then cropped it to make the long dark wall lose the effect of leading out into the water and simply divide the image in half horizontally but apparently the wall was still a (or one of many) problems.
Not exactly an outtake but a picture of Kathe and Alex_B while Alexis was taking his own picture for the challenge. Taking a picture of railroads was his idea. We often go all togetther to shot for challenges but always enter pictures that are completly different from each other.
Alexis has been taking picture for over a year, but I only discovered recently that we could register him on DPC. This is his first challege.
As usual, I selected an entry for this challenge as I wanted to be different - and the score reflected this brash move :-) I was going to submit one of these two but would they have done any better?
Funny, looking through my unedited shots of that weekend, I have all of those shots, almost exactly. Guess our eyes caught the same things.
With the DSLR in your hand I think it gave you the ability to have a faster response to what your eye saw. Much less delay in 'pushing the shutter' to the time of the actual picture. Had a great day shooting with you and Jim.

In fact I tried to replace the submitted shot with it, but accidentally put a bigger-than-150K version on my flash memory and could not upload it, and then it was too late: I was travelling and so getting on-line was a bittricky. I think this "outtake" is much better than the submitted photo. What do you think?
Here is another outtake. It looks pretty awesome at full resolution, but loses much of its impact at 720x, and almost all of it at 640x, that's why I did not enter it
