I have recently been checking out e-bay and their telephoto lenses..found titanium 0.5x professional wide angle lens complete with hard case and 10 yr warrenty,and its new..also a titanium 2x professional telephoto lens with the same accessorie (warrent and case etc) all for 89.00 is this a good deal and are these good lenses for a olympus c-4000 camedia? I am confused and wold appreciate any advice you could offer...thanks :)
I have no experience with the items you mentioned, but be very carefull when buying off ebay. Some places are out of New York city and are not the best business/individuals to deal with. The tout hight quality and long warranties for low grade equipment.

I believe I have the very same lenses, they are NOT a good buy. The wide angle does a decent job probably not .5 but the telephoto is a piece of crap. I would recomend not buying either of those lenses. Instead spend the 300 dollars on a decent lens that you know will work.

Well I was close...just one block off :) .... No I have not had any bad experiences with them or any experiences with them at all, But I have heard from others ( a few personal friends, and people from other photo sites) who have had purchased stuff from there and they said is was not very good quality equipment. Low cost..yes, good quality...NO

Thanks for helping me with this. I am not very experienced with lenses or e-bay for that matter. The seller of these items is priceitwholesale 8563,also they are power sellers and have a 99.3% positive feedback. They also offer package deals complete with camera lenses and tripod and a bunch of other things that sounds great...but you know the old saying if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. But if severin has these lenses and they are crap thats all I needed to know...thanks again :)
If you're seeing companies called 42nd Street Camera and 43rd Street Camera I'd be wary. There is a long-standing, well-respected and trustworthy store called "47st. Photo," and those might be trying to trade off that name recognition.
Last time I was there (buying my first SLR years ago) 47th Street was *all* camera stores, but 47st. Photo is the mainstay. I'd buy from them again anytime, but I'd be very careful about companies with similar-sounding names.

Wondering if these places are like the stores in big cities or tourist trap stores in which they sell "gray" market items like the "big joke" Pamasonic, Camon, Somy, etc items. They seem the same just labeled with a "M" instead of a "N", but you still think it's the same item. Looks the same when you're looking at it and change it when you buy the items. Always no refunds.
Be safe when buying at questionable stores and on the net.
