I just got back from a week of business in London and got the opportunity to see the Notting Hill Carnival for the first time. What a blast and a great source of many photo ops. Here are some of my favs:
Nice work. I was there in 1985. A Soca hot summer. From Brixton to Brooklyn. There was one of the same type of events today at Grand Army Plaza here - but chose to spend the last day before school on the beach!
Thanks for those. I think it was the seventies when I was there - year after the riots and a couple of years after that. Great pictures and it's really nice to see something good like that happening.
Having lived through two bloody riots in Brixton and Stockwell, I must say times have changed since the Special Patrol Group thought they had license to pulverize anyone... ;-)
