Meerkats are not actually cats. they're part of the Mongoose family. Probably about the most obliging subjects on earth to photograph though. whatcha think?

He is beautiful. I have never seen a meerkat in the wild but I love them. They are such wonderful social little creatures. This is a great pic.Message edited by author 2003-09-22 23:29:36.

They are very photogenic (I've seen a lot of them on PBS TV shows), but that one looks darn grumpy and disheveled; my title would be
I Told You I Didn't NEED A Bath! or else maybe ... And I Can't Do A Thing With It!

I think it could use a different crop - his face is the focal point and it is akwardly place too near the top of the frame.
