I wonder what you chappies, in your infinite wisdom, would make of the entry that didn't pass muster. (In this case, for not meeting the challenge enough.)

That's a great shot with dramatic lighting. I would like to see a little more light at the front left, on the knight especially...

I liked the entry, with the pawn in motion, although giving the impression of SLOWER motion would be nice. The Bishop in the back seems to be facing backwards. Otherwise I have so suggestions; maybe take a shot from far back to show your lighting setup?
