Can anyone tell me how to discard the embedded rgb colour profile?
I'm using Photoshop7, when I open an image imported from my G3, I choose discard colour profile, and voila the image is great.

I work on it, then save it in jpeg format.

But... when trying to use it in other programs that don't have the discard option, such as PS album,, the embedded profile is still there and taking precedence. So all the imported images are way too yellow.

Suggestions?

If you don't want to convert it to a profile and save it with that, you can uncheck the 'ICC Profile' box in the Save dialog and it should be saved without any profile information. This is the same 'Save As' and "Save for the Web'

Gordon,
I'm not getting that option when I save, save as, or save for web(which I don't have, I use Image Ready for web images)
I've been through the preferences and colour management.

What am I missing here?

I just realized that this is a problem w/ all the images whether from a camera or not.

Everything I look at in Photoshop Album (thumbnails before importing) are yellow.

and import that way.

this is really odd.. I'm using the colour profile for my monitor (VA720) with some contrast correction.
Things are printing as close as I've ever been able to get.

hmmm. This is appearing to be an issue w/ PS album

But,, that doesn't change that I don't see the ICC profile option when saving in PS7

If you go under 'Edit' and 'Color Settings', I believe, you can change the working space setting from sRGB to RGB etc. I've always been under the impression that you want the embedded profile and the working space to be the same. When I set mine up like that, the images from my camera are displayed on my monitor exactly as they look when the photo was taken.
