Aw man I would love to! That's right up the road from me, but I've already got plans for an istockphoto gtg in Baltimore that weekend. Sheesh this photography hobby is becoming demanding! Any istockers in the area that might be interested in the Baltimore thing, drop me a PM.
I would really like to make it. And I really don't see why I cannot do so at this point. The only day I know is boxed out is Sunday, Oct 1, but most other days are free for me. I am pretty flexible about taking a weekday off as well.
there's killer golden-oldies band that supposed to be playing that day--cyrus mccormick and the reapers. the play nothing but 50's & early 60's stuff. lotta fun, in addition to everything else, including the pig races ;-)
Last year everyone met at the Midway flagpole at 1pm. Nothing's been decided this year for sure on meet time/place. The Midway flagpole is probably still a good location to meet.
Thoughts on time?
I'll probably get there early, like 10:30am, because I'll need to leave around 4:30pm.

I would love to go. If our friends can pick our daughter up from school that day I'll try to make it. They are out of town right now and I don't know when they'll be back. Heck, I could always have her skip a day right? It's only Kindergarten and she wouldn't be missing anything anyways!
I should have realized this before.. on a weekday the person who would be driving me (peroty) will most likely be working, so I probably won't be able to make it. Unless I get the courage to drive myself (chronic pain makes that hard) or someone else is coming through eastern Henrico (Varina) on their way.
10:30 at the flagpole sound perfect. i'm planning on being there all day, except for having to skip out from 4-8 for an assignment. yeah, i'll miss the sunset, but i'll still be back for some of those cool light shots. just hope there's a challenge that will fit the shooting ;-)
