Just do a google search for internet abbreviations. This site came up and seems to have a lot of abbreviations listed on it.

when a post gets replied to, it goes to the top of the forum. If you want a post back at the top, you "BUMP" it up.

What does Rant mean
a rant is usually used to describe an excited discourse on (usually against) any particular subject
originally it meant any pompous, pretentious speech, ala Dennis Miller's "I don't want to go off on a rant ..." monologues
so, for DPC's use of the term "rant", i would choose the former meaning :)

I'd have thought that in actual practice they veer towards the latter meaning ....
