I have just recently gotten Neat Image and I must say I enjoy it a great deal! It really does an amazing job and if anyone is considering it, you should definitely try it!
With that being said, I am indeed having a little trouble in certain instances telling what exactly would be a better effect. I know many photo comments I have read say something about using NI ineffectively, making the shot look too "plastic"like. I thought if we posted examples of how we are using NI, we can give and get advice in a central location. (My apologies if this has been done already; I could not find anything in a forum search.)
For this example photo, I have one "before" shot and tried two different settings in NI to get the two "after" shots.
(before)
(after 1)
(after 2)
I'm interested to see what people think about these. I think that the shot didn't have excessive noise to begin with but using NI brought out different aspects of the shot in different ways. The first example definitely has a lot more contrast. Incidently, here is the original image:
I hope that people want to participate in this. Please know that this is NOT a learning thread where I am teaching. I am wanting just as much help as others do, but I am willing to offer some imput on other people's shots and hopefully I can be at least a little bit helpful. :-) |
