I have never selected this option at Mpix or other places...What does it mean when you purchase this option? What exactly is a matboard? Thanks for the help...
your photo will be spray-mounted onto a piece of cardboard with this option. single-weight matboard is a little flexible...kind of like shoebox cardboard.
at mpix, the double-weight matboard is actually a piece of foamcore.
the finished size of the piece will be the finished size of your image...they don't mat an 8x10 into an 11x14 or anything like that.

It will hinder the process if you get the matting the wrong size. This is my chief complaint with MPIX. They do framing, but no front matting. They claim they are considering it, but I've been looking at them for a year and have used them a couple times in that year. It seems to be just talk...

my art show was a local affair. i had about 100 prints for sale (5-10 of a number of shots) and ended up selling about 10. it was enough to cover the cost of the show.
the fair, ironically, is coming up again this weekend. i still have all of my leftovers to try and sell but i don't know if i will make it or not.
so the cost of your local art show was what, couple hundred bucks or something?
no penrod for me yet. this was the irvington guild of artists' show.
i think i ended up spending right around $100 for everything. i honestly don't remember where i got the stuff -- i'm pretty sure i followed skip's instructions to the letter. i DID get the prints from mpix, though. i can't say enough about them.
